WICC representatives took part in the hearings in the Verhovna Rada of Ukraine

 

November 21, 2006. The representatives of Women’s Information-Coordination Center took part in the hearings “Present day objectives and problematic issues of gender violence” that were held in Verhovna Rada. The representatives of our organization delivered to the hearings secretariat the proposals on amending the changes into the Law of Ukraine “About prevention of domestic violence”, Code of Administrative Offences, and Criminal and Procedural Code.

 
WICC participated in the round table "Mechanism of realization of the Law of Ukraine "On prevention of domestic violence"

 


 

November 9, 2006. Public relations coordinator Pavlo Vlasov delivered a speech on the international round table “Mechanism of realization of the Law of Ukraine “About prevention of domestic violence”: problems, ways of resolving. The best practices of European countries.” His speech was devoted to the amendment of changes to current legislation in the field of counteracting domestic violence”. The round table was hosted by the Representative office in Ukraine of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe jointly with the Ministry of Ukraine for Families, Youth and Sports. 

 
WICC received an award from IOM Representative Office in Ukraine

 

 

September 7, 2006 International Organization for Migration in Ukraine awarded Women’s Information-Coordination Center with a medal “For exceptional services in counteracting human trafficking in Ukraine”. Rewarding ceremony was held in the presence of a Queen of Sweden Silvia, Princess Madlen, First Lady of Ukraine Kateryna Yushchenko and the members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, deputies of the Verhovna Rada, and public.

On this occasion the First Lady of Ukraine Kateryna Yushchenko sent a letter of congratulation to the Head of the Board of WICC Hanna Voynich where she congratulates her and Women’s Information-Coordination Center with the award for outstanding efforts in providing support for persons who suffered from human trafficking and preventive work among Ukrainian people.
