|Facilitating gender equality development|
Gender equality is one of the features of a state governed by the rule of law. Gender principle is reflected in the Constitution and the Laws of Ukraine. However in real life it does not help women to feel equal to men. At the present there is no parity in terms of activity of women and men in many fields of our society. Gender inequality is the most notable in labour, employment spheres and politics.
To facilitate equal participation of men and women in a political and public life, decision making processes at all levels of political, economical and social spheres in Dnipropetrovsk region the Women’s Information-Coordination Centre:
1. Conducts information campaigns among population on the issues of gender equality establishment, develops and issues relevant informational materials.
2. Conducts trainings on main principles of gender equality attainment for the representatives of law enforcement and local government who is responsible for the realization of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Programme on Gender Equality Establishment.
3. Develops cooperation modalities between state authorities, local government, who responsible for the realization of the State Programme on Gender Equality Establishment, and non-governmental organizations with regard to provide equal opportunities for men and women in all spheres of public life by organizing and conducting joint trainings.
4. Invites Dnipropetrovsk regional community for a discussion of the situation on ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men in every sphere of the society, preparation of resolutions on gender equality by state authorities and local government as well as planning effective activities on gender policy improvement.Women’s Information-Coordination Centre developed the Concept on Gender Equality Establishment in Dnipropetrovsk Region which was discussed with representatives of local government and public and introduced to the Department for Family and Youth of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.
